Before Sense of Hearing Assignment
For this assignment we are to focus on our sense of hearing. Also, with this writing, we have to choose a genre that we have not yet used this semester. With that said, I have tried many different routes ranging from a short story, to interviewing my mother to creating a brochure. After trying different genres, I decided on making a brochure. My major while attending IUP is Elementary Education. My audience for this assignment is my elementary education students, ages from kindergarten to fourth grade. I have created an easy-to-read brochure for them to learn the basics of the ear and their sense of hearing. My students will use this brochure as a guide, while I teach them in the classroom.
After Sense of Hearing Assignment
After creating my brochure on the sense of hearing, I feel very confident that my students will be able to benefit from this hand out. As I stated above, I wanted to accomplish my goal of having this brochure as a teaching tool in my classroom. The way I made the brochure colorful and inserting actual pictures of children will help get and keep the students attention. The more you focus on images and wording that the children hear and use everyday, the better they will focus and retain the information you teach to them. With all of this said, I believe I accomplished my goals in my ‘before’ paragraph above.
